First Communion

First Communion Program 2012

First Communion is for children who are in grade two or older. 

 Sacramental Registration for First Communion can take place at the following times and places:

• Parish Office Monday - Friday;  9:30 am - 4:00 pm ( closed during lunch 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm)
  

• Online Registration

If your child was baptised at Holy Name Parish please complete the Baptism information on the registration form. We will not require a copy of Holy Name's Baptism Certificate. If he / she was baptised elsewhere we will need a copy of the Baptism Certificate. Please attach an english translation if the certificate is not in english. The translation can be in your handwriting. The copy(ies) can be handed in with registration or faxed to us at 403-249-9952 / atten. Linda Hengen

A $20.00 sacrament fee, covering the cost of materials will be collected. Payable in cash or cheque to Holy Name Parish. Payment can be submitted at the office,  Parent Information Night or placed in an envelope / marked atten Linda Hengen and placed in any offering basket at the weekend Masses. Upon receiving we will send you an email to confirm receipt.Thank-you.

Parent Sessions at Holy Name Church Hall (please attend one of the following meetings)

• Tuesday, March 20th, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
  
• Wednesday, March 28th, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
  

 
First Communion Classes (please attend one of the following classes each week, the classes are interchangable, we only ask that you attend all four classes)

• Tuesdays at 6:30 -7:30 pm / Holy Name Church Hall

                Dates: April 17, 24  May 1, 8

• Wednesday's  at 6:30 - 7:30 pm / Holy Name Church Hall

                Dates: April 18, 25, May 2, 9

• Saturdays at  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm / Holy Name Church Hall (The Saturday classes will end 5 minutes early for any of the children and their families who are attending the 5:00 pm Mass )

                Dates: April 21, 28 May 5, 12

First Communion Retreats / Church Tour

The retreats will be held on three different Sundays and will be limited to 30 - 35 children at each retreat.

              Sundays - April 29th, May 6, May 13 -  from 2:00 - 4:00 pm

MASS SCHEDULE

First Communion Masses begin May 19, 2012. Please review the following Mass Schedule and email your Mass choice with your registration. The schedule will be available at the parent information night and during all classes. Families are encouraged to sign up as early as possible as the Masses are limited to the number of children per Mass and are on a first come first serve basis. Please note that we are unable to reserve a spot with out a registration. If you have a conflict with a chosen date, please review the schedule and email your alternate choice. Once a Mass is full the box will read - MASS FULL and we will no longer be able to reserve spots for children during that Mass.
